God's Will, the Greater Works, and Prayer

Handbook 5: Article 36 - Making Full The Word of God

Again:

"...Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to Thee I lift up my soul.

Teach me to do Thy will,
For Thou art my God;
Let Thy good Spirit lead me on level land."

Psalm 143:8, 10

And Lord, teach us to pray Thy will!

"And it came about that while He was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, 'Lord, teach us to pray...' And He said to them, 'When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.'"

Luke 11:1, 2

And from Matthew:

"Pray then in this way:
Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven."

Matthew 6:9, 10

More instructions were given to Peter about praying God's will:

Jesus asked Peter a vital question:

"...'who do you say that I am?' And Simon Peter answered and said, 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.' And Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.'"

Matthew 16:15-17

And as a result Peter is given the wisdom and understanding for bringing in the kingdom and the will of God to earth!

"I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."

Matthew 16:19

Jesus spoke similar words to His other disciples with an addition!

"Truly I say unto you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again, I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask; it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I in their midst."

Matthew 18:18-20

"You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you."

John 15:16

Bearing Fruit That Remains: The Order of Things

The Question: "Will we, His people, volunteer freely (Lit. will be freewill offerings)?"

"The Lord says to my Lord:
'Sit at My right hand,
Until I make Thy enemies a footstool for Thy feet.'
The Lord will stretch forth Thy strong scepter from Zion, saying,
'Rule in the midst of Thine enemies.'
Thy people will volunteer freely ( Lit. will be freewill offerings) in the day of Thy power (or army)..."

Psalm 110:1-3

"And coming to Him as to a living stone... you also as living stones, allow yourselves to be built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

1 Peter 2:4, 5

"...building yourselves up on your most holy faith; praying in the Holy Spirit..."

Jude 1: 20

Definitions:

Praying in the Holy Spirit

"Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, 'Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.'"

Jeremiah 1:9

Asking in His Name

"...I will give you pure speech from pure lips that you may call on My name and serve me with one united shoulder and one unanimous consent."

Zephaniah 3:9
