Seeking Righteousness, a Closer Look

Handbook 4: Article 32 - Part 4: An Appointed Time, an Appointed Work: Renewing the Kingdom

"The Lord is righteous in all His ways..."

Psalm 145:17

"...while following the way of Thy judgments, O Lord,
We have waited for Thee eagerly;
Thy name, even Thy memory, is the desire of our souls.
At night with my soul I long for Thee,
Indeed, with my spirit I seek Thee diligently;
For when the earth has Thy judgments
The inhabitants of the earth learn righteousness."

Isaiah 26:8, 9

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied."

Matthew 5:6

Paul had this hunger.

"...I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own... but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith that I might know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I press on..."

Philippians 3:8-12

"...He loves him who pursues righteousness."

Proverbs 15:9

"Open to me the gates of righteousness,
I shall enter through them,
I shall give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord,
The righteous will enter through it.
I shall give thanks to Thee,
For Thou hast become my salvation."

Psalm 118:19-21

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing."

2 Timothy 4:7, 8

"Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood,
And has not sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from the Lord
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Thy face..."

Psalm 24:3-6

"...I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life..."

Revelation 21:6
