Handbook 5 encapsulates the "summing up" of all things in Christ Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.

Beginning the Journey: Measuring Our Spiritual Maturity

Handbook 5: Article 3 - The Journey to Perfection

Check One:

_____ A babe who needs milk...

"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For every one who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food is for the mature..."

Hebrews 5:11-14

_____ A partaker of solid food, pressing on to perfection...

"Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to perfection, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instructions about washing, and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits."

Hebrews 6:1-3

A Personal Word:

My first steps beyond the milk of the word!

Rebirth
Handbook 1: Article 20

Jesus issues two invitations to press on:

The First: "Come and you will see."

"John the Baptist and two of his disciples were together, looking upon Jesus as He walked by. And John said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God!' And the two disciples hearing John speak, followed Jesus. And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and said to them, 'What do you seek?' And they said to Him, 'Teacher, where are you staying?' He said to them, 'Come, and you will see.'"

John 1:35-39

The Second: "Come to Me..."

"Come to Me... and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart..."

Matthew 11:28, 29

The Apostle Paul speaks of his spiritual journey to know Christ and be found in Him:

"...I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord... in order that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him... that I may know Him -- that I might progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding (the wonders of His person) more strongly and more clearly... Not that I have obtained or am already made perfect, but I press on to grasp and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me and made me His own... I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 3:8-10, 12, 14

Did Paul complete his journey to perfection?

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but to all those who love His appearing."

2 Timothy 4:7, 8

"So let us press on to know the Lord.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth."

Hosea 6:3
